Midgets in the white suits, red lights bouncing off the bronze walls, white organza curtains, flamboyant chaise lounges, and secret alcoves; if you didn't know any better, it would be safe to say that you were immersed in some sort of a dream world... but as I do know better, I can reveal that the location is Avalon, the recently opened cocktail bar, lounge and club, situated in Shoreditch.

Greated by the door person with the infamous book of life (otherwise known as the guest list), we were ushered inside and led to the bar area which resembled the trading floor of a stock exchange, from which I grabbed a Karma Sip-tra cocktail, the first of many creations from the Head Barman, Frankie Campopiano, and ventured further inside.

Avalon is nothing short of an enigma. The outside does not prepare you for what awaits you inside, which is mixture of trendy Bricklane amalgamated with the preppy city crowd and fashionistas. Avalon meets everyone's taste, but it doesn't end there. The future of Avalon is very bright, it includes; silent discos in the amazing outdoor terrace space, otherwise known as 'The Garden' and later in the year Avalon will be opening its lower level luxury spar which will have mosaic-tiled Jacuzzi tubs and mini hot tubs; the coolest event space ever.
