For Label Mabels the world over, Vogue Magazine is the holy book of fashion ...sweetie. The coveted front cover of the magazine is usually reserved for elite supermodels; very few so far have been black women.

Media insiders have often argued that the reason for this lack of usage of black models has been because they have a negative affect on publication sales. However, Italian Vogue recently published a 'Black Issue' in which they used black models for their photo shoots.

Not only did the July 2008 issue require an additional print run of 40,000 copies but it is also being sold on Ebay for more than 4 times the cover price.
As a homage, this month's Crumbs For Men salute goes to a trio beauties; Noemie Lenoir, Chanel Iman and Selita Ebanks who graced the pages of Italian Vogue's monumental issue.

Noemie Lenoir

28 year old Noemie is a French model you may recognise from the current Marks and Spencer ad campaign, which she fronts alongside 1960's fashion icon, Twiggy.

Noemie has modelled for many designer labels including Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger. In true 'model-turned-actress' style, Noemie has had some minor roles in French movies but has also appeared in the Hollywood Blockbuster, Rush Hour 3 with Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker.

Noemie is married to the international footballer, Claude Makelele -those footballers really do have it all.

Chantel Iman

Chantel Iman is a new comer to the world of modelling - she's only 18 years old but has already been carving out quite a career for herself.
She began modelling in 2006 with a shoot for DKNY and within a year had managed to nab herself the cover spot on US Vogue.

Chantel has been seen working the runway for Marc Jacobs and Stella McCartney often showing the audience her signature wink.

Selita Ebanks

Selita Ebanks is originally from the Cayman Islands but now resides in the United States; she was scouted whilst on a trip to a US theme park.

As well as modelling for designers such as Abercrombie & Fitch and Ralph Lauren, Selita also finds time for her work as a Victoria Secrets angel. In their 2007 Christmas Catalogue Selita models a $4,500,000 bra set which is encrusted in diamonds, emeralds, rubies and sapphires.

Although Selita has 7 brothers, it seems some men have made it past them and Selita has been linked to a number of sports men and entertainers including Nick Cannon to whom she was engaged; they broke up and he went on to become Mr Mariah Carey.
