CFM's May Trends

The fashion department at CFM has tried to make things slightly easier for you and your wardrobe this month. It seems like summer is well on its way, so we thought we'd give you the heads up on the latest trends that have made its way from many a catwalk, onto the rails at our favourite shops. Now pay attention.... Remember, rarely does the sunshine last in England, so I have to be quick...

Say it with Stripes

When it comes to the stripe debate, we at CFM are thinking more Parisian streets than jail bird.

Thick, bold stripes work well for the summer months and when choosing your stripes remember that a vibrant splash of colour never hurt anyone. My favourite is the 'Lear' top from Reiss, pictured above for 45 UK pounds on www.reiss.co.uk. Yes it is understated, but lovely nonetheless.

On Safari

I have been a lover of the whole khaki / safari look for a long time and now that Harrison Ford is back with his latest Indiana Jones flick, I'm sure many others will be jumping on the safari bandwagon.

If you are planning on going for the safari inspired look this summer, remember that Crocodile Dundee is a thing of the past; bring your own modern day twist to the mix with this cotton jacket by Martin Margiela, priced at 539 UK pounds and available from www.oki-ni.com.

Yes, Denim Still Rocks

Denim is a trend that never dies; there are so many variations of jeans to fit all tastes, shapes and sizes. There is the skinny jean that still rears it's head on every major street in the UK, the boot cut for those boy band types and the loose fit jean that can be teamed with practically anything and still look amazing.

My number one choice has to be these Pepe 'vinyl' loose jeans, available on www.asos.com for 90 UK pounds. I would advise that you downgrade to 6-8oz denim during the summer months since sweat and perspiration is only particularly sexy in the bedroom.

Now that you have this information under your belt, the only thing left to do is to enjoy the heat.
