Last month, the fashion industry event which is 'Fashion Week' arrived in London. As well as an opportunity for the beautiful people to schmooze and for designers to parade their most recent creations, LFW also gives buyers and editors a chance to see trends for coming seasons.
Armed with a notebook and pen (old school I know) I visited the exhibition at The Natural History Museum before its move to Somerset House later this year.
I came across LeJu Jewellery Designs and was immediately drawn to their vegetable-ivory goodies like a WAG to a premiership footballer.
LeJu Designs
The jewellery is made from vegetable ivory. Fortunately, no animals are harmed in the production of these unique, contemporary pieces because despite Vegetable ivory having the look and feel of elephant ivory it is actually a seed from a special palm that grows in the Amazon. The seeds are dyed using natural plant extracts to colours which reflect the natural hues found in the Amazonian rainforests. The finished jewellery is the epitome of eco-chic, I fell in love with them and your chick will too.
Here are my picks of the Leju Range:
Pavonia Necklace
Vegetable Ivory laced with leather. Priced at 80. This beautiful necklace is wearable, yet eye-catching enough to make a real statement.
Palma Earrings
A slice of vegetable ivory on a silver hook. Priced at 14
Manzana Key Ring
This Key Ring doubles as a bag charm. Priced at 14
