The Pennsylvanian born producer, DJ and label owner, Jay Haze is an individual who is not that easy to define. Knowing this, why would you expect anything different from his music?
Fabric Records have called on the man of many talents to produce their latest Fabric Live CD, and Haze in return delivers a memorable one, as the tracks take murky twists, turns and diversions along the musical highway.
Following the intro, Fabric 47 starts the ride with the chilled out 'Awakening' which is full of pianos, synthesisers and drums, easing us in to the techno house tracks that follow. 'Freaky M****F***!!' is reminiscent of those hot, steamy nights at The Shelter club in New York. For me however, the album really gets started at track 5, 'Confusion' by Lump featuring Lerato, and this continues into the following track, 'Freedom', which effortlessly flows from one track into the other.
I'm sure I don't have to list the reasons why Fabric 47 is such a good purchase; with Jay Haze at the decks, you are promised something that is definitely not very run of the mill, my electro house lovers out there will be in dance heaven with the album.
All profits made from the Fabric 47 album will be donated to the Merlin Health Services; a charity currently working with the Democratic Republic of Congo to help tackle the ongoing civil war issues. Haze confirms; "...What they do is really positive, and 95% of every dollar you give goes out into the field."
Fabric 47 will be released to fabric first members on the 29th June with a UK release date following on the 13th July.
