May Gift Guide

It could be argued that with the onslaught of the mobile phone and other pieces of hi-tech gadgets that we just can't leave home without, the humble wrist watch has become a little redundant.

A watch is no longer a necessity for telling the time; things have moved on since those days in much the same way that sundials are now confined to the past. As a gift purchase however, a watch is hard to beat with its combination of functionality and stylishness.

There are some rules to follow if you want your choice to be more gift than gaff:

1. Consider her favourite designer - If she already wears the clothes, shoes and perfumes she'll probably like the watch too.

2. Make it a beauty - Opt for a beautifully crafted watch which she'll use for years to come.

3. Style over substance - Does she really need a watch loaded with features?

As usual I've been hunting high and low for watches that would make food gifts so get comfy and take inspiration from my selection.
