November 08 Shopping Guide

Featuring... Ruth Cross

With temperatures dropping and energy prices rising, we're all looking for alternatives for keeping warm, therefore it should come as no real surprise that I'd be looking at cosy, wool items to feature in this months shopping guide.

While perusing the web for gift ideas for the chick in your life, that combines the warmth of wool and the sexiness you want in a gift for your lady, I stumbled across an online boutique I'd like to recommend to you. www.ruthcross.com has recently been featured in the New York Times and I can understand why.

The site is packed with unique ethically designed fashion and home accessories which are a world apart from the often homogonous styles found on the high street. Each piece being completely hand made and finished, takes up to a month to produce. The key words here are quality, individuality and luxury. The Ruth Cross brand uses tradition methods such as hand knitting, to create contemporary and modern pieces that your chick will love.

Here are a selection of my favourite pieces which are available to purchase online and in the Ruth Cross' new independent gallery style boutique located in a grade 2 listed building: L'Usine, 73 New Street, Salisbury, Wiltshire, SP1 2PH. Check their website for opening hours.

Belted Dress

This belted dress is available in one size which will fit sizes 8-14. The unique belted style allows the wearer to input a little of their own creativity by deciding whether the dress is forward or backwards belted or worn with an entirely different belt. Hand knitted from Scottish lambs wool, it is priced at £230

Fine Knit Dress

This easy to wear dress can be worn alone or over trousers or jeans, making it very versatile. It features ethically sourced ox horn buttons and is available in one size which fits UK size 8-14 and costs £160

Pendant Necklace

This distinctive piece is stunning when worn with a plain top and at a price of £97 I feel it is something a chick would wear again and again.

That's all from me this month. See you in December for our special Christmas gift guide.
