The Return of Slim Shady...

Yes, he is back, and of course he continues to stir controversy wherever he goes; have you seen the album cover for his new album 'Relapse' which shows a portrait of Eminem made from a mosaic of hundreds of pills? But don't short change him; over in the states Em has broken records already with 'Relapse' which sold 608,000 during the first week of release... I guess he was definitely missed.

For this album Em goes back to his winning formula which sees Dr Dre seated firmly in the 'production driving seat' (and you can't fault him at all on his production) as Mathers grabs the microphone and gives us a run down on what has kept him away from the charts for all these years... drugs, drugs and yes, you guessed it more drugs!

'3 am' is a track that stands out for me, but Eminem talking about finding bodies in his house and guessing that he "must have killed them" soon had me switching off after the second chorus, 'Old Times Sake' is another solid track and a first listen to 'We Made You' confirms my closing statement, but I must say that the song is a bit of a grower as I found myself singing "we're the ones who made you" long after 'Relapse' came to an end.

Don't get me wrong, even though I wouldn't label 'Relapse' as Eminem's best record to date, I would say that he is definitely a consistent artist; he knows what his fans like and does not divert much from within those safety rails.
