It's Father's Day again; one of the most underrated celebrations on the event calendar. If you're stuck for what to do with your father this Father's Day, I'd suggest The Motor Expo London held at the Docklands from the 9th - 15th June. The Motor Expo show is one of the world's largest car shows in the world, where you will find everything car related under one roof.
The Motor Expo show has a special section dedicated to environmental and green issues, offering the latest green technologies and solutions in the car world. It's free so I'd say it's the perfect place to start or end your Father's Day. www.motorexpo.co.uk.
The Scoop at More London

Up until the 27th of June the open air film screenings are back at The Scoop - the outdoor sunken amphitheatre in South Bank which seats an audience of 800. The movies are free to watch, however, I'd make sure you arrive early as on a warm night, the seats can fill up rather quickly. Seating is allocated on a first come first serve basis and you must be seated by 9.15pm for a 9.30pm start time. For information on films showing visit www.morelondon.com/events.
Royal Ascot
17th - 21st June

It's time to hire the good ole top hat and tails again as the infamous Royal Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire is the place to be in the coming weeks. Admission prices start at 15 UK pounds for basic entry and can go up into the hundreds, depending on the hospitality package you choose.
Remember, if you are thinking of buying a seat in the Royal Enclosure, before you have your other half shopping for an outlandish hat you have to make an application in advance for entry, bag yourself a sponsor, after which you're good to go. Amongst this year's favourites are Cesare, Tariq and Haradasun (if you win, remember who gave you the tip). For more information visit www.ascot.co.uk.
Glastonbury Festival
27th-29th June 2008

Wellington boots at the ready? 2000's answer to Woodstock is just around the corner. Low ticket sales have been blamed on the bad weather, but I'm not too convinced as I thought it was typical for the day to be a wash out weather wise.
This year, tickets are available to purchase from various HMV stores around the country. The line up for this year is very impressive. Artists such as; Jay Z, Amy Winehouse and The Verve are scheduled to perform on the Pyramid Stage, as well as Mark Ronson, Massive Attack and Duffy on the other stages. Weekend tickets are available for 145 UK pounds. If you have yet to purchase one visit www.bbc.co.uk/glastonbury/2008 or head down to HMV. |
